About Linköping

Linköping, Sweden's fifth largest city, is located about 200 km southwest of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. The city and its surroundings are bustling with a vibrant mix of culture, nature, education and world-class high-tech commerce. For the visitor the Linköping region offers a wide range of activities - from a tour of the cathedral and the castle, to an excursion at the Göta Canal, or a visit to the Air Force museum. More information can be found on the official Linköping web page.

Linköping University

At Linköping University research and education is carried out in broad, multi-disciplinary and cross-faculty departments, a framework that facilitates cooperation between disciplines and across faculty borders. This, together with an ongoing dialogue with industry and society at large, has been essential for the university's ability to combine basic and applied research in thematic and innovative contexts.

Visit the Linköping University web page for more information.

Climate

Southern Sweden has a temperate climate, with four distinct seasons and in general mild temperatures throughout the year. In May the temperatures range from around 10 to up to 20°C. Because of the high northern latitude the days are long during the summer, with more than 16 hours of daylight in May. The best time of the year to visit is May-September. Don't forget to bring a sweater and a light coat as the nights can get cold.
