Linköping is strategically situated next to highway E4 and the main railway between Malmö and Stockholm. The position makes it an easy destination to reach. Linköping has also got its own airport with both domestic and international traffic.

By air

You can fly directly to Linköping or to one of the nearby airports.

Linköping City Airport

Fly directly to Linköping City Airport, just 5 km from downtown. You can get to Linköping from all around the world with KLM's Amsterdam-Linköping route or directly from Copenhagen with Nextjet.

It's easy to get to downtown Linköping from the airport by taxi or rental car. You can also take the bus. The nearest bus stop, Vetegatan, is a bit less than 750 meters from the airport terminal. The route is bus 16 from and bus 17 to the Resecentrum.

Norrköping Airport

You can also get to Linköping by flying to Norrköping Airport, which is only 40 km away.

Skavsta Airport

Low-price international airline Ryanair flies to Skavsta Airport outside of Nyköping, and from there airport buses (Flygbussar) take you direct to Linköping.

You can also rent a car at Skavsta Airport. Hertz has an agreement with Ryanair so you can get a discount if you show your boarding card. 

You can also take a country bus to Nyköping station and then take a regional train to Linköping. Go to www.sj.se for connections.

Arlanda Airport

Stockholm Arlanda, Sweden's largest international airport, has daily flights to and from a large numbers of destinations worldwide. From Arlanda you can reach Linköping by train in less than three hours. Go to www.sj.se for connections.

By train

Linköping is also easy to reach by train because of the location between Stockholm and Malmö, and the rail traffic is frequent. On the X2000 fast train, the trip to Stockholm takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes. To Malmö, the X2000 takes about 2 hours and 50 minutes.
